It has been just over one year since Jayden Whitworth joined See Limited as our Content Marketing Executive in January 2024. Here Jayden reflects on what has been an incredibly busy first 13 months.
While walking through the doors on my first day only feels like yesterday, it also feels like I’ve been part of the furniture here for years!
It has been more than 13 months now since I joined See Limited in what was my first role since graduating from De Montfort University in Leicester.
It has been a busy opening 13 months, but I have really enjoyed getting to know the whole team at See Limited and our operating businesses Performance Panels and Bousfields.

Before starting this blog, I had a read of what I said when interviewed on my first day.
“I’m looking forward to learning about the different operating businesses within the Group and spending time with individuals learning from their knowledge and experience to support me with my content creation.
“With the variety of product lines, I can’t wait to learn more about the USPs and identify a hook to enable me to produce engaging content to support See Limited and its operating businesses.”
13 months down the line and I’m still learning about our product lines!
But I think the variety of products and businesses that the Marketing team produce content for is what makes this job so engaging. One day you could be writing about the latest kitchen design trends and pitching them to homeowners, the next you’re producing a flyer that will be distributed to our B2B customers.
Creating content with completely different target audiences can be a challenge when you jump from brand to brand in a constantly evolving social landscape, but it is a challenge that I am loving.
Having come from a journalistic background I thought coming into this job that my days would mainly be centred around writing blog posts, social media content, and copy for digital channels, etc.
But instead, I have been able to get involved in a diverse range of different content creation from video production, animation, graphic design, flyer/advert design, SEO, brand building, and much more…
This helps to ensure that every day is different!

Alongside the day-to-day work I have been given the opportunity to develop transferable skills by attending events at the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce.
I recently attended a course about public speaking and presentation skills which helped to develop an understanding of how to control nerves and use your voice to enhance your presentations.
I have also had the opportunity to attend multiple events over the last year, including supporting our team at events like the Homebuilding & Renovating Show, while also attending external events like the Digital Marketing World Forum and Surface Design Show.

At See Limited, we put sustainability at the forefront and strive to make positive change in the built environment industry. This culture is something that initially drew me to the role as it aligns with my own values.
That’s why I was honoured to be brought in to be part of our carbon reduction team, which comes together to discuss how we can constantly improve our sustainable offering.
In autumn last year, the See Limited team were awarded four sustainability awards including a national award. I loved being invited to attend two of the award nights and celebrating our achievements, even if it meant I had to wear a bow tie!

With it being my first ‘office’ job, not only was I learning all about our product lines, but I was also finding my feet in kitchen and office heating politics, or how ‘dress down’ is ‘dress down Friday’? 13 months later and I still don’t know how to work the coffee machine!
The highlight of my time at See Limited so far has been launching our new TikTok account for our new kitchen worktop brand. We hadn’t been on TikTok for any other product line before, but I identified a possibility that TikTok could work for us. After presenting this to the team, we launched towards the back end of last year. @BioCarbonWorktops on TikTok (shameless plug, please follow us!)
It is an amazing team at See Limited, who have supported me over the last 13 months. I’m sure the next year will be just as busy, and I am excited to continue creating content across our channels.
